How to use the Mondraghi wallet

Happy man with Mondraghi

Discover the convenience of our mini wallets

Have you just bought a Mondraghi wallet, or received one as a gift, but aren’t exactly sure how it works?
Or are you simply considering switching to a mini wallet and curious to find out how it’s used in practice? Either way, you’re in the right place!

In this article, I’ll guide you step by step through discovering your Mondraghi wallet: I’ll explain how to organise your banknotes, how to insert and remove your cards, and how to make the most of the coin pocket featured in many of our models.

This way, you’ll discover just how convenient it is to use in everyday life – and why more and more people are choosing Mondraghi.

Cards: how to insert them...

As you can see, the money clip is attached to the RFID and NFC protection card, which will therefore be the one at the very bottom. To insert your cards (which, just as a reminder, can be up to 9), simply slide them in through the opening and push them firmly towards the short side of the casing.

If you feel a bit of resistance at first, don’t worry – that’s perfectly normal. The locking system is designed to be slightly tight at the entrance to keep your cards securely in place. Just apply a bit of pressure so the opening widens slightly, allowing your cards to slide down smoothly.

...and how to take them out

This is the part that’s most different – and most convenient – compared to traditional wallets. To take out your cards, hold the miniwallet upside down (with the leather side facing down) and use your thumb to give the cards a first push, “fanning” them out.

Then, when you reach the card you need, use your other hand to pull it completely out through the opening: while your thumb pushes back the cards in front that you don’t need, your other fingers push from behind to extract the one you want.

It sounds more complicated than it actually is – in practice, it takes just a second. The biggest advantage is that if you’re using a card with a contactless chip (like a payment card or travel pass), you don’t even need to take it out completely. Just slide it out halfway so that the chip is fully exposed, tap it on the reader, and then push it back into place. Convenient, isn’t it?

Think, for example, when you’re at the supermarket checkout, still bagging your groceries, with a queue behind you and needing to pay: with Mondraghi, it’s super quick, because in just two seconds you can slide out the chip, tap it on the POS terminal, and you’re done.

Banknotes: how to insert them...

When you purchase a Mondraghi miniwallet, it comes pre-filled with fake banknotes that simulate the position of real ones. So, let’s start from there: insert your banknotes into the money clip in descending order (starting with the highest value notes and then the lower ones), with the long side resting on the leather cover.

Next, use your thumb to push them towards the corner through the rounded opening, and finally fold them into three along their length. To speed things up, instead of inserting banknotes one by one, you can stack them in order first and then insert them all at once.

This way, your banknotes will fit perfectly inside the miniwallet without sticking out or risking falling out.

P.S. You can insert up to 20 banknotes in the clip, and if you want, other things too — like receipts or tickets.

...and how to take them out

When you open your Mondraghi wallet, the banknotes appear all folded into thirds. Simply lift them and slide through with your fingers to pull out the one you need — don’t worry, the other banknotes will stay in place and won’t accidentally fall out. Then, when you close your Mondraghi, the notes fold back up exactly as before.

Coins and AirTag/SmartTag

This part is very intuitive: simply insert your coins or AirTag/SmartTag into the pocket and push them out with your thumb whenever you need them.

Again, don’t worry — the pocket is tight and the opening is small, so there’s no risk of the contents accidentally falling out.

If you’re using an AirTag or SmartTag, I recommend pushing it all the way to the back to leave enough space for coins at the pocket’s opening.

Mondraghi: the wallet that changes your life

Sure, it takes a little time to get used to it at first, especially if you’re accustomed to classic medium or large wallets full of compartments, scattered cards, and forgotten receipts.

But it doesn’t take long to discover just how revolutionary the Mondraghi miniwallet is in its simplicity: you’ll soon realize how comfortable, practical, and ergonomic it is — perfect for slipping into your pocket without any bulk.

Every action, from pulling out a card to retrieving a coin, becomes smooth, intuitive, and quick, and you’ll be surprised at how enjoyable it is to use such a simple yet thoughtfully designed accessory.

In short, Mondraghi changes your life, because going back will be impossible.
